We fought the good fight...Now will reenergize and repurpose

Greetings: Thank you, VP Harris. Words cannot fully express our gratitude for all you’ve done to inspire us, pave the way, and lead with courage. As we reflect on this journey, our hearts are both full of appreciation and beauty, but weighed down by a sense of void and disappointment. As hard as it is for us to accept, we have realized that we cannot let this result pull us into despair or despondency. We are reminded of Dr. Martin Luther King’s words: “We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope.” The fight to save our democracy is far from over. This moment only strengthens our resolve. Set aside time to feel this disappointment and process it, but let it be a moment, not a state of mind. Get back on that thing we call life, and ride with the strength and passion this experience has deepened in us. Breathe, relax, and embrace this chapter in Herstory. We made history, even if the outcome wasn’t what we hoped for. In doing so, we’ve opened our eyes to what’s possible and to the work still ahead. To Team Bay Area Women United and Supporters: I am truly in awe of your passion and dedication to this cause. We gave it our all, committed to our vision, and delivered on our promise to make an impact. The DNC has expressed deep gratitude for our collective contribution of $25,791 within a short period, a testament to your unwavering support. Together, we hosted an incredible fundraiser, provided a platform for local candidates, and wrote over 1,500 postcards with the help of our community to stress the importance of down-ballot and local California races. We engaged with candidates, showed up at rallies for VP Harris, joined 44,000 women in unity with Win With Black Women, drafted white papers to educate on “What’s at Stake,” uplifted each other, sent support across the U.S., registered first-time voters, and, ultimately, we prayed. Your energy, time, financial support, and commitment have been invaluable. Because of you, Bay Area Women United is now recognized nationally as a determined force to be reckoned with. Here’s the reality: Trump represents the forces that challenge our core values—hate, supremacy, greed, chauvinism, selfishness, fear and the list goes on. We see you, America. And we are undeterred, for we stand firm on democracy, the Constitution, and the principles that define who we are. To all our champions and supporters, thank you for standing by us. This is only the beginning of a new, purposeful journey. We will reenergize, reorganize, and repurpose to continue advancing our mission.
